Default Manifold Removal

Hi All.

I am just in the process of fitting Borla headers to my classic facelift. Trouble is, the exhaust nuts/studs at the heads are SOLID.

I have tried cleaning up the threads, WD40, heat on the nut from a blowtorch, running the car to get everything warm (this shifted two out of six), tightening before undoing (won't budge), ratchet, spanner, air gun.

Please help!

John.

try giving them a good soak with some plusgas penetrator ,eurocarparts etc and take your time ,if on the heads side i suspect it may bring the stud/thread out the block with it but you may get lucky.good luck

oh and wd 40 is a water displacement so soaking it for the next 50 years might just help a little lol

As above, proper penetrating oil would be what you need...

I used a breaker bar on mine, if its the bolts on heatshield I had to cut them off, remove headers then take out of the rest of the bolts on the heat shields.
