Default Dyno calculating CHP?!

As above guys. How does a Dyno calculate CHP?! Is it just a formula of chassis loss estimated?! Or can the run down actually calculate chassis loss?!

It seems 90% people state whp. It seems 400whp is around 500CHP?! Would this sound reasonable?!

I think it's calculated using the rundown like you say. It works out the losses in the transmission that way.

it varys depending on who you ask. There's so much that can affect it that realy its an educated guess calculation (even how thin the fluid in the gearbox can affect it). I've heard figures from 22% through to 25% mentioned.

o and whp depends on where your from, typicly american figures for whp are figures at the flywheel, not the wheels

I don't have access to a Dyno, Have been playing with Virtual Dyno which calculates WHP. Curious to how it would compare to crank power!
