Default Is this broken?

I was getting a knocking noise at low speeds and tights turns from the front left. I basically gave the area a damn good clean including the brakes and the knocking seems to have gone. But I took a couple photos.

I don't think I am able to post images and I can't find out how to?

Is this what is known as a lower ball joint? It looks a bit crooked. Mind you, I haven't checked the other side yet to compare.

Ah ha thanks for that. I have just discovered via a google image search where the lower ball joint is. I'm gonna need to take the wheel back off. What should I be looking for in a potentially broken ball joint?

If a ball joint is broken you will know by looking at it.

Wiggle a crow bar or even a big screwdriver on the lower ball joint - anything you can get leverage on.

With the wheel in the air levering up and down, there should be no play or maybe 1mm or so. If yours is shot like mine was, youll get at least 5mm play, maybe more.

Mine was knocking it's **** off!

It's odd. All I did was remove and clean the area thoroughly and gave the brakes a steam clean and the noise has gone. Seems to be coming from the rear too so I'm just gonna remove wheels clean and replace. Maybe wheels are setwrong?!
