Default Rear inner arch/bumper bracket rotton.

Hi was fitting mudflaps and noticed the inner rear arch where the plastic bumper bracket is has rotton through. Is this an mot problem?? It's a 2005 wagon. Thanks.

Both of mine are gone, I was told it is an MOT issue and will cost about 300 quid to sort

Really? Was hoping it wouldn't be a problem! Was it an mot tester that saw the rust? It's not structural. I was thinking of just fibreglassing over the hole and underselling it. The o/s is ok on mine.

Not sure if I wanna go down the whole welding lark every time an mot is looming. May just sell. How much would the car be worth? 2005 Wagon Wrx with PPP, full black leather and elec sunroof.
