Default More problems

Driving to work this morning my Type R was hesitant. It normally struggles to idle when cold but seemed to idle high instead. I pulled over as there was also smoke coming from under the bonnet. I have the usual oil leak from the rocker cover gaskets onto the exhaust, but that usually only happens when its hot and had some boost. I thought I'd narrowed it down to the half moon on the back of the head and siliconed around it late last night.
When under the bonnet the turbo seemed to be smoking but I couldn't tell if it was that or rising up from the oil on the exhaust. I could hear water bubbling up in the turbo pipework, which considering I was only a mile away from home was odd.
I limped the other mile or so to work, by which time the car seemed to be running on 3 cylinders and vibrating through the cockpit when ticking over.

I've left the car at work until I can work out what it is. There was a small puddle of oil underneath on the R/H side when I looked underneath it earlier.
The engine is 1100 miles old since the forged rebuild, 2.1. It has Tesco 99 in it and has had since Saturday, and fresh 10w 50 millers CFS and a new oil filter put on on Sunday. The car ran fine Sunday/Monday.

Anyone? Lol.
I've googled and watched a few videos on YouTube and found similar horrible noises.
Would a broken cat in the up pipe cause smoking and a misfire?

Ok well today I pulled the up-pipe, turbo and down pipe off and could find nothing untoward?!
The turbo has slight play but the blades aren't touching the housing. There is what I assume is oil blowback (like a black thick paste) on the inlet pipe and from the top of the housing going into the fmic pipework.
The heat shielding was loose on the up pipe but that wasn't the cause.

The smoking could be some silicone fell on the exhaust.

I've checked it all over there isn't any silicon on it. I was under the car so it wouldn't have dropped onto it.

If it is then it's very slow. But then that wouldn't cause the ill running and sounding like there's an angle grinder in the air filter.
