Default High idle, why?

So my car seems to be idling high at the moment. I guessed at the idle air control valve. This is what it looked like

So I gave it a clean and it now looks like this.

Also put a new O ring on it aswell.

Now it seems to be idling even higher, (around 1200 to 1500 rpm! Any suggestions on what this may be?

The throttle does get a bit sticky sometimes, as in the accelerator pedal will get stiff, sometimes stay down after flooring it and I have to sort of pump it with my foot to free it up. I have ordered a gasket for the throttle body so that I can give that a clean, hopefully should fix that.

Oh and I'm running a Simtek ECU mafless so that rules out the MAF sensor.

Just cleaning the ICV won't fix it if it is on it's way out.

I would get that pedal problem sorted out ASAP as it sounds pretty dangerous!

Yeah don't worry I will! I'm gonna give the throttle body a clean and if that doesn't fix it, order a new throttle cable. The thing is, I really don't want the expense of buying a new ICV. I have just read a bit about Simtek idle issues and if it turns out that it's not the ICV I'll have wasted the best part of £300.
