Default 3rd Cat (Scrubber) Removal

Afternoon Folks,

Got a couple of questions:

I'm looking to remove the 3rd cat from my newage wrx, I've done a bit of reading and the fact the 02 sensor is placed before the 3rd cat the air mixture shouldn't change which won't effect the ECU

However, I have a Non-res catback fitted at the moment, replacing the 3rd cat with a de-cat pipe (with 02 bung) with the increased airflow through the exhaust do you think there will be a chance of boost creep?

From what I've read the wastegate on the TD04 should be able to deal with the extra airflow without issue, but I'd like to hear from someone in the know!

Also the car is not remapped, only a cat back and new panel filter added.

Thanks!

If you change the up pipe for a decat one you will need a remap. What year is the car? Hawkeyes do not have a cat in up pipe.

Yeah I'm not going to bother changing the up-pipe as I don't want to go down the remap route.

It's a blobeye, so up-pipe cat, downpipe and scrubber cat.

In theory you should remap if doing significant exhaust changes and if it were my car I probably would. However the standard ECU will fuel correct within reason to take into account some changes in the engine system. Mine happily corrected for an upgraded panel filter and back box.
