Default radiator

The plastic black seal at the top of my radiator decided to just split.

I assume this means a new rad? Anyone got one local to fit a bug?

Any advice on which coolant etc also would be great! Doesnt look too hard to get out...

Hello mate. Sorry for your woes. I had a spare, but was nicked by some metal thieves when my back was turned (quite funny now lol).

It's not too much hassle, but man thing is to fill the little hose with a funnel before attacking the header tank. You will not get bubbles then.

Sorry to jump in, but I have the exact same issue, and as I plan to upgrade/tune in the future, I was thinking that I should upgrade to an ally rad rather than replacing with a standard rad that could potentially split again. I don't plan to run huge BHP, but the only ones I can find are around £1500, which I obviously don't want to pay for a rad.

It seems that the bugeye's are tricky to find ally rads for, as they are cheap ally rads all over the place for other models.

OP, did you upgrade your rad or replace like for like? And did you get any info on coolant etc?

Thanks

The only ones are £1500? Were you looking on ebay? Do you mean this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMP...item51a52f066d
Thats not really that price. The last one sold at £159. I belive ebay sellers put super high prices on, when they are out of stock, so they don't lose their ad, or pay extra fee's. Email them and they'll tell you when they can get one in.

lol yeah, i've ordered a plastic one now, decided there really wasnt a need to get an ally one just yet. But yeah, that would explain the prices :P

Thanks
