Need some reassurance
Changed my top and bottom rad hose's today after the top one split.
Filled her up with new coolant, trying to follow people's method's on here, went for a drive temp gauge sat ok, but I had no hot air through the vents.
AIRLOCK!!
I let her cool down, when back out there took the rad cap off, squeezed the top and bottom hose, and ran the engine with burst of revs. A lot of air came out, some much so I put about another 500ml of water in (now 7liters of coolant) to replace the air.
Went for a spin hot air through the vents, fans kicking in all good signs.
I am just paranoid as the temp gauge only sits just above the first marker (2003 blob) and the engine bay seems extremely hot to touch.
Do I still have an airlock or is just a result of a hot day and the temp gauge is ok?

As long as the top and bottom hoses are getting hot and there's hot air coming through the vents at idle you should have no worries,
If all pipes are getting hot the the thermostat is working and coolant circulating as needed,
Keep an eye on you temp gauge,
Make sure the fans cut in,
And keep checking levels when cold and top up as needed.

Should be fine is the lower hose getting warm? and the block it self holds like 5 litres so takes a while to remove all the air i use a compressor to do customers cars sucks all the air out.

I recently replaced the rad hoses (cheers stu 53) and had a simalar problem.
As said previous get the engine hot, rev a wee bit and replace water/coolant as needed.
