As above mate and welcome along. We have a monthly pub meet so keep a look out for the thread when it goes up, it's just outside Chelmsford. Also keep your eyes out for a quick green classic in Braintree, it belongs to Matt on here.

Still not had the inclination to run it on high boost, new windscreen coming Friday, then some interior tidy. Was thinking of the tunnel run then my parents decided they were coming down again, I don't believe it, they came down on the last tunnel run date, when is the June pub meet

In all seriousness Alex, an up rated panel filter, fuel pump and exhaust options of your choice and a remap should boost your power level up. The trouble is the headbolts tend to stretch and the gaskets pop on these engines. If you are lucky you may get away with it. The odds, are unfortunately against us with the 2.5s

Alex,
Welcome along.
May I suggest driving the car for a while before making ANY changes whatsoever. Your car will benefit far more from sensible structured upgrades and alterations to the chassis and dynamics than any additional power.
Decide what you like and dislike about the car most and then enhance on that basis.
The right mods you will enhance the car under all conditions and situations. Not just when you stamp on the gas pedal.
Welcome along.

The subaru is an immensely capable chassis as thus will feel very safe. Even at the 400bhp mark the newage chassis will cope with ease. I too had this issue that the car never felt exciting as it handled its power too well.
Engine wise I'd suggest a sports cat/decat, uprated fuel pump an remap. Panel filter if you really want, but no huge gains to be made till its mapped.
For mapping I recommend Simon Roe, aka Jolly Green Monster.
These upgrades should see you around the 300bhp mark with a decent hike in torque too. The torque is what will really make the difference on the road.
Additionally to that I'd add a stiffer rear anti roll bar, droplinks and some camber bolts. These will stiffen the rear of the car and help her get her nose tucked in on turn in.
Geometry setup is also a huge game changer, as are tyres.
I think the newage brembo setup is a must as minimum on the heavy newage vehicles so a swap to those would be a good upgrade at some point.
A well chosen set of pads an brake fluid change would certainly make a big difference if budget allows.
Also recommend swapping the gear linkage bushes for some solid items. This adds a huge amount of feel during shifting.
Hope that helps.

Wrx has red 4 piston calipers with SUBARU written on them.
The STI has much larger gold coloured calipers made by brembo. They will have Brembos logo written on them. They're unmistakeable if you have them.
The 4 pots can be made to work well on a road car, but if you really start pushing on then they show their flaws, as do the Brembos when big stops are required.
Personally I'd get some decent pads in the WRX calipers with some fresh fluid and that will make the world I difference.
I'd recommend either the PF z rated, PF 01 or maybe a Ferodo DS2500.
Personally I like the Performance friction compounds best.
The 01s in my Clio were astonishing on the road, but aggressive on discs and painted wheels. Lol.
