Mum and Dad are working dogs yes - however, don't let that put you off. The working dogs are TRAINED to be alert and detect trouble and difuse situations. Dad's temprament is superb with my kids - he's quite protective of them but is very loving despite his "working side". Having not trained mum ourselves - i wouldn't entertain taking a risk with her - but she doesn't show any agression to us as a family

DAD: Diesel

MUM: Jute

this is our second litter and they make superb pets or with the training could possibly make good working dogs. Theya re being reared in the home environment with constant handling by my kids, their used to other dogs and cats and have been sucessfully weaned from mum since 4 1/2 weeks
Thank you, but it's not for me, I have 3 now, including a 3 month pup so thats prob enough.
But I know a friend is after another Shepherd so i'll forward the details.
Mum and Dad look lovely big dogs.
Are you sure they are ready to go, as I didn't think they were ready to be seperated until 8 weeks?

Not really a problem Neil, as long as they're weaned. In fact the earlier the better for training purposes. Up to 12 weeks everything they learn is gospel. I got one of my shepherds at just over 5 weeks (mother didn't want to know the litter) and she trained to a very high standard extremely easily.

Indeed that is right Brian - we've had to hand raise pups b4 and so long as they are feeding and are bright etc - and of course that they're new owners are savvy enough to cope with a young pup - I'm happy.
For instance, I had a family come the other weekend with a view to pick one and leave a deposit etc. They new NOTHING about dogs - and when i say nothing i mean exactly that. Actually asked me if they needed to feed it milk (i.e. cows milk) and they didn't want a bitch incase it got pregnant - I explained that in order for pregnancy............... it needed to mated. This fell on deaf ears, i think they beleived in the immaculate conception - cause they went on to ask "if she got pregnant, can we give you the puppies" WTF?
Needless to say - they had no savvy whatsoever - and left empty handed and the "picking" was taken no further
