Victory is sweet - and for once its ours!!!
As most will recall our original scoob was written off in April this year. At the time we had a traders policy and although the scoob was itemised as our own personal car - they refused to pay out. Hence why we broke the car down for salvage!
Me being me wouldn't let it rest there and after much toing and froing with the insurer - I tookmy case to the Financial Ombudsman. I've waited AGES but today I received a call to say that my claim would be settled in full as the insurer did not have enough evidence to NOT pay out!
I'm so pleased I thought I would share the good news and to show that sometimes - perseverance pays off.

I'm so pleased LOL. Its been such a long wait as the Ombudsman have such lengthy waitings lists! Its only just been passed to an "ajudicator" though (last week) and already she's settled it!
tbh - whilst the money is a touch (obviously) - its more about the justice and the fact that they didn't get away with just palming us off with their bloody t&c's. And I'd lvoe to be a fly on the wall in that ******** office right now - I'll bet he thought he'd heard the last of me
With regards to deductions - the normal excess and they wanted another £500 because its an import - but obviously its not - so I get that back
- and when they said they wouldn't pay I cancelled the policy - so in order to settle they want the outstanding premiums (which i think was about £400) - so nothin more than what would "normally" be deducted.
Stu: I DID get settlement on the electric too
- they wrote to me and told me they'd found the "missing" money and it left an amount of £150odd - but they wrote that off as a "gesure of goodwill"
Just as well or else that would've been a court issue

yeah "slightly" - they originally wanted over £1800 for 10 months worth of electric. I live in a 3 bed house - not buckingham palace LOL.
Still, never did receive the "load test invoice" from Mike

Well done Vicki!!!!
We went through the financial ombudsman about my step sons accident last year as the insurance co decided he was at fault straight away and paid the 3rd party out.
After taking advice the claim should of been a 50/50 and we got in touch with the Ombudsmen and they agreed with us so we also won out little battle
The insurance co offered £1000 for the car or to re-instate his 1 years no claims, so he took the no claims as it will benefit him more in the long run!!
