Chances are it will be stick out more from the bumper, I seem to remember talking to markB4 about an impreza BB on a forester and it would be a bit too short.

Are you looking to fit a standard forester back box or aftermarket one to your impreza?

Cause I've currently got an impreza exhaust on my forester which is just short of the rear bumper.

So the forester exhaust will probably stick out quite a bit and the back box may even foul the rear bumper.

It's an aftermarket one in stainless, is yours an aftermarket one??? I will be going back to it tomorrow to see how it measures up lengthwise against my standard box. If it's not any good for mine do you want it?? if yours is aftermarket we might be able to have a swap!!

As Vega said, the forester backbox has a longer tail pipe, apart from that all the hangers are in the same place... Our's also currently has an Impreza backbox on it at the moment

If you decide you don't want to fit it I might be interested in buying it off you if it's anygood.

Second dibs of coarse to Vega

The one i am looking at is stainless and seems to fit nice on the forester, it doesnt have a name on it that i can see but tailpipe is either 3 or 4 inch i think. I will buy it and then at least if it isn't any good for my car i can play swopsies with someone else.

As mentioned it does fit perfectly but the Forester tail-pipe is longer

I had my Impreza bb tailpipe lengthened courtesy of Ian. I'm sure he would shorten it for you if you ask nicely

Thanks to all, have got the box and noticed on the forester it only just made it to the rear bumper, measured it and it is only 20mm longer than the standard WRX set up so it looks as though it will fit just fine, off to get a new gasket and bolts then try fitting it tomorrow

I need a replacement back box for my 00 Forester S Turbo. Noticed that a few of you have Impreza boxes on and wondered what the sound is like, is it much different from the standard one?
Any help appreciated, John.

The box i have fitted from a forester was a big bore back box so sounds louder, are you thinking of putting a standard scooby box on a forester??? if so you are welcome to try my old standard one, its not for sale but will give you an idea if it will sound any different. I would think it would sound just the same as it does on the scooby though.

Thanks for the offer Scoobyed, I will probably wait to see if I can get some feedback from others who have swapped to an Impreza box, cheers anyay though. I am trying to release a bit more of the lovely burbley sound and am not sure if I would get that from a standard classic wrx or sti box.
