Smile Is the MODDING BUG really contaegous?

Having spent a reasonable amount of time hunting down an unmolested WRX STi, I promised I would not get drawn into this 'modding' game.

All these tweaks & add-ons seemed to be typical of 'boys & their toys', and anyway, I love my Scooby just the way she is................

.......well, that was until Saturday night when we attended our first cruise - wow there are some lovely cars about!! Most of them owned by ESC members!

Anyway, having spent the rest of the weekend discussing it, I have decided the bug has bitten (much to Arkwright's amusement & joy - god knows what he's planning...)

I have decided as a first step I would like to add the full Rally Graphics and wanted to know if anyone could recommend someone to both supply & fit?

I have found the set I like on ScoobyWorld - has anybody got any experience of these? Or do you know of a better / equally good kit?

I would be grateful for any comments / suggestions / advice, good or
bad....! Also if you have any piccys please post them so I can get some more ideas!

100% Addictive!!

Agree with Stu, unless your going for a full Rally rep like Tiny or Darren from ABW then the rally graphics look sh1te. I'd save my money and put it towards suspension upgrades, or summin that actually makes a difference

Totally agree mate... you tracked down an unmolested, un chaved, unabused example.

Then go and put graphics on it?

Graphics kill your paint no matter what anyone tells you they do and teh car will never be the same. Worst days work i ever did was putting graphics on my paint.

Performance upgrades and subtle classy exterior mods are what get you noticed

Ok, thanks for that guys - I think I know what I'm gonig to do now - or rather not going to do!!!

Thanks especially for the comment above about your own experience. Defo put me of now.

Oh, and the one word that really put me off - CHAV - I HATE that word & anything associated with it - so if nothing else had put me off then calling it CHAVY was enough.

Thanks for your honesty, I knew I'd get a genuine response on here - whether I liked it or not!!

Scooby Blue WRX

(Should have listened to the daughter - she told me it would 'ruin' the car & looked tacky!!)

Dont worry fella.

Glad you listened to advise from genuine people. You will thank us for it one day. Biggest impact will come from a nice drop on some serious wheels and a clean exterior with some sublte mods.

ie: nice splitter, smoked/clear indicators, chrome indicator bulbs, classy exhaust etc.

You would belive how few of that type of impreza are about when it all sounds so simple and insignifificant.

Got that one (or rather two!!) Obviously on a different deal though - I got membership for £35 with two free stickers, or was it Buy One Get One Free...?

have to agree with bodski and everything else that has been said.

I had 2 different styles of graphics on my old classic, at the time loved them. But now having a nice clean car, it looks so much cleaner, i now hate graphics!!! lol Unless as previously said you are going to go for the whole rally look.

ps, didnt anyone tell you to let the bank manager know you had bought i scoob. You sound exactly the same as me, my 99 classic was as it came out the box when i bought it, but after 1 or 2 trips with the ESC that soon changed!!! lol

It's only because i have had a baby that my new one has only the body kit, which was fitted before i bought it.

Not often I agree with Frayzzzzzzzzzzzzzz but he's spot on.
Unless you're going to go for the full Rally look spend your hard earned cash under the bonnet you'll find it's far more satisfying

In response to the thread title then YES very contagious !!

I should know !!

There is some good advice mentioned in this thread ,

But ........................

At the end of the day the car is your & what you wish to do with it is YOUR decision , some love graphics some hate them , i personally love them , but my scoob has gone just a little further than just the WRC graphics & this helps to carry it off , again some people love my car & some cant stand it , At the end of the day do what you want , you only live once

Enjoy

ESC sticker men - You have RB5286 ( Can supply but think retired now from fitting ), Or Wozzaa who can offer both the supply & fit service

HTH

No worries - you weren't to know - wasn't like I'd written the post in lippy or something (not my style!!)

Tiny, thanks for your input too - it's cars like yours that made me think seriously about the graphics - I realise you have gone just a step or two further than the graphics - but that's what makes a car.

I am soooooo looking forward to seeing it at the weekend in the flesh, rather than just the piccys!!

Have already told Arkwright I've found my next Scooby - so when you decide to sell, add me to the list.......!
