Default Help Needed!!!

Have a small problem with the new engine we've just put in my car.

Once fitted we used a ratchet on the crank to turn it over a few times, and all was fine.

Have just started it for the first time, and it now seems to be partly seized.

We have used the ratchet on the crank again, and the crank will turn 1/2 to 3/4 of a rotation then not budge. It will go back in the other direction though, but will then stick going that way aswell.

Fingers crossed the timing is out slightly.

What else could cause this to happen?

Sounds like the cam belt may have slipped. How long did it run before it stopped & won't turn?

We were trying to start it, so only turned it over 2-3 times. Didn't actually get it running.

If it is the timing then just as well it didn't run. I am sure Paul or Frayz will be along with some advice on what to do next.

Sounds like the timing may have slipped and you have some sort of clash mate. Trouble is, you may have hit a valve when it slipped and bent one.

My advise would be to check that the belt times up properly first of all. Call me if you wanna have a chat about it.

Engine problem is now sorted. An O ring was missing from one of the injectors, so the cylinder had fuel leaking into it. Is now fixed.

Have a new problem now.... car will turn over fine but won't start. No spark getting to numbers 2 and 3.

Big thank you to Frayz for helping tonight, really appreciate if mate
