Default Days of Chelmsford closing ???

I've just spoken to the girl on Day's service desk to get my failing battery sorted under warranty, and she said they wouldn't be able to carry out anymore warranty work after the end of Jan because they were closing . It seems houses or flats are to be built there .

sorry if it's old news , but I thought I'ld shre it with you

Dave

Xtreme or Mocom will be looking after it once the warranty expires I think ...can't say I've been over impressed with Days in the past when my previous Scoobs had warranty left on them .

Lots of threads over the past year or so dicussing this dealer - doesn't seem to have had many particularly good comments made, rather the opposite, so if they are closing then some people on here won't be unhappy.

I however will be "slightly" sad as finding a Subaru Dealer (anywhere) isn't the simplist thing to do and with another one closing, it just makes it a little bit harder for some to get into the marque.

Likewise i would never take my car back to days anyway, warranty issues that they failed to put right were all done by Haddocks.

Now out of warranty it's Mocom for me anyways

Still in warranty and Mocoms anyway.

I've had good and bad times at Days, its a shame to lose the local subaru connection but I have seen it going wrong for a while. I bought my new car from Haddocks as Days' stock was pretty poor TBH. Whilst Haddocks still make me cringe a bit, they are a better dealer than Days ever were.

If they own the land I bet they will make more in the sale of it for flats than 10 more years of trading !

Its "Official", received a letter from Days today. All departments closing at the end of January 2008.

Wonder if they will have a "closing down sale"

After a certain problem i had with them and not returning since, seeing them close doesn't particulalry concern me. Harsh, but true.

The one amd only time I visited them was just before I got the Scoob. They could not have shown more lack of interest. I don't know if they thought I was a genuine customer or not. The fact I flew to Scotland to view, then buy, my car should answer that question.
I just wonder if Wilsons will eventually go the same way seeing as they no longer sell Scoobs but only service them. Only time will tell I suppose

i heard rumbling a while ago of a possible subaru francise opening in southend area, however that seems to have died a natural death. Will have to chase that one up and see what's happening.
