Santa Pod today.......
I had a little trip down to Santa Pod today as they had a Saturday night Special day where they leave the track open till 9pm and run in the dark.
The day started with a large amount of fog, mist and low cloud (which i'm pretty sure are nearly all the same thing
) causing the opening of the track to be delayed by roughly 4 hrs due to them having to dry the strip so my dad and I had a little wander round the pits viewing what i can only say was a very impressive array of "cars".
I took a few pictures of the day of some of the cars running.
Some beasts and some that you would not believe!!!
V8 Powered Fiat 500!!!
One of the fastest 1/4 mile times of the day 182mph 8.23 seconds.

we were there
great night and a whole lot of fun racing in the dark
Wish they would leave the jetcar out ..it just delayed things by too much, but the cold air and low temps certainly helped.

Yes, it was me....
A bit p~~S off with the met office - all week it said the weather would be fine on Sat - the bbc on friday night said the only rain would be in aberdeen,(why doint they say - "we havent got a clue best look out the window on the day")
my friend flew down from scotland to help me with mapping and so we had to leave at 4pm to get him back to stanstead - this meant 3 runs as they didnt open the track till 1ish.
(Aparently we get 150 rainy days a year, acording to Gary Linikers ad - glad im emigratting)The first two runs the boost control was set to 'on' on the ecu by mistake, (its in japanses symbols
) so kangagooed down the strip for two 16s.
Third run, first clean run, 10.9 @134
- then we raced to stanstead throu the backwaters, an just made his flight by 3 pico seconds
.Sleeper
Great pics BTW

I was there, did see an awful lot of scoobies, in the parking bit, not alot running, after they closed/opened/closed/opened the strip i only got 2 runs in.
It was funny as someone walked past and said, "thats the most standard scooby i've ever seen, nice car"
i said thanks but there was a more standard one next to me in the car park, another classic silver one but with the original side repeaters and indicators, mine are clear.
it was good fun tho , never been there before so was chuffed to bits with the day.

I was very impressed with a few of the classic Fords doing there 1/4 miles........
Especially my mates yellow MK2........... the thing flew down the strip!
Also had a friend of mine running a couple of bikes and I must say that doing a 1/4 mile in a car at 150mph must be a bit brown trousers but to be hitting 152 on 2 wheels must be something else!

were you there until the end ? i ran at 20:02 and 20:46, with my little standard car. I was impressed with some of the things that rumbled down there. sod the bikes tho, not me..... i like a bit of protection.
now time for some mods to then see what it does.

Damn I just started a Pod thread. I done a search first and there was nothing on here. Bloody Search.
Anywya, I went today, got there my earliest ever, at 8.30, hoping to get to the front of the queue, only to be greeted by the previous nights campers that parked in the queue all night. Got 5 runs in with a 13.88 being the best. I've got a MY99 UK with PPP. Only saw one other classic, a green UK.
EDIT: Oh and forgot to say, Nice pics
althought thats not a Fiat Panda in the first one, its a Fiat 500. Its one of Taz racings cars, who also had a Robin Reliant 4 wheeled car with a cossie lump. It was doing 12's.
