Default It's Back....... :) Zak's done it again!

The Type R is back on the road and the smile has returned

So here's the additions:

Replaced STI bottom end (Note STI Phil!!!!!) with Closed Deck Block for handling extra power....

Forged Pistons and rods

All matched to my STI Heads.....

Fuel Lab Regulator

Walbro Fuel Pump

All tied together with a new Apexi PFC

Car feels very nice at the moment but taking it easy for now..... running minimal boost at the moment, but should be able to turn it up soon

With a couple more additions like an STI 9 intercooler and bigger injectors I may be able to run up to 2 bar as the block should handle it

Thanks to Zak and all at Mocom

OK, it needs a clean!!!

Bugger off!

No worries mate, Zak has had some supply issues so could not get on with mine anyway. Good job to, as I have just bought another goodie to go on when it is put back together

That's what I mean, that intercooler has GOT to go and get replaced by a nice big free flowing one. I'm only running 1.5

Need to recover from the rebuild first

Then I'll have a look at the pennies and go from there.... Zak said I should go for the front mount with inverted inlet manifold and some huge U.S. made turbo......

May just get the STI9 one for now as that will be a great improvement over what I currently have and I should get my money back on it as they don't ever seem to drop below around £200.....

I'm also seriously looking at changing my back box..... it's a new H&S Jap style box but it's too loud!!!! I put a new sound system with boxed sub and can't even hear it unless I'm doing 2 mph......

David....

Can't wait to see yours back on the road.... any special plans?

Fair enough,

But why have a closed deck block, pistons, rods etc blah blah blah if youre not going to use it?
Im now guessing you havent had this built, you have purchased the engine S?H is this state of build???

Lose the sound system mate.. the sound of a ball bearing turbo and a wastegate @ 2 bar is all the music you'll ever need.

Bibo,

What happened to your car to cause you to replace the engine etc....

I thought it was just a leaky Radiator.

Cheers Frayz...

Yep brought the bottom end already built... Had it pressure tested by Zak and cleaned up as much as possible.... (it had only supossed to had done less than 10K since it was built with all new internals, built by a reasonable source)

Me and Zak sat down and decided that due to the fact I managed to get the bottom end for a very very reasonable price it's worth it.

BTW, you could be right about the sound system..... it weighs far too much... but i wouldn't hear the Wastegate over the exhaust!!!!

You wont have time to worry about hearing anything with 2 bar on a GT30...

Do it.. you know you want to

Hi Mike....

I'm never going to be a Track day regular.... but I have a trip to the ring soon and I'm going to try and get a few in this year once the car is ready....

To be honest, all I want is to be able to get myself out of trouble when I need it.... Also I told Zak that I went through cars quite quickly (2nd scoob in 6 months!) and what could I do to stop getting bored.... he said big power...

Fair enough...... however i regret having the extra power at times, as it seems to bring the worst out in me....

there is a limit for the road, I think, if it starts to take away from the ability to 'just go for a drive' ..... but havent found that limit yet ... must be up there somwhere
