Default Zak.. Cant thank you enough. More Mocom Racing praise!!

I know you all here me talk about Zak and Mocom Racing alot but this time i really felt i needed to say something... If i made a thread all the times Zak helps me out there would be hundreds of em lol.

Last night the STI formed her latest incarnation... With the new custom 80mm induction kit and the boost wound up the 20g is really showing the cars capabilities.
Now pushing 1.5bar all the way to the redline its getting naughty.. I will get Zak to email me the screen shots of the dyno data and in gear times etc so you all have the results to see.

I must admit that if you keep the turbo on the boil.. she really does fly. It makes some seriously nice noises now, flames, pops bangs and all sorts. Her mid to top end power is really quite strong now and i think the only word that discribes the power delivery is relentless.

Zak, once again mate.. thankyou so much.

i owe ya

Awesome car mate.

Love the fact you have done it in stages building it up gradually with each mod complementing the next.

Thats the whole point mate. The fact that you dont change something for the sake of it.

To me its development.. not just modding. Its a car that has been tuned with IMO the right parts that work together and all are there for a reason.

Frayz, you know you can still run more boost

80mm inlet ? did you change anything on the 20G to make it fit ?

No Marc.. the MAF and intake is 80mm.. not the turbo inlet pipe.
The stock turbo pipe has been retained to prevent surge.. this is possibly the reason i may be going back to a recirculating dump valve..

I may just buy a recirc kit for my HKS one. 740cc injectors, and parallel fuel rails are next on the menu.. just for safety really.

The topmount is staying for as long as possible.. last night i didnt see anything above 24 deg C even at WOT, full load in 6th... although a front mount will be developed for better flow when its required.

Other parts will include a light weight pulley kit and a few other bits

If you do the parallel mod let me know EXACTLY what you do, as I've asked people before and most say the Newage doesn't need it ???

Oh, and I've gone back to full re-circ and its much better

At the moment ive got very very little surge but i would like to be able to run maybe 1.6bar in the mid range. I think this will produce surge whilst on part boost at high RPM so this may need the recirc.

My fuel system is already built at Mocom, 6-AN rails, 740cc injectors and full aeroquip hose setup. The car already runs a Fuelab FPR and is currently set to 3.8bar at idle.

I didnt see my last duty cycle last night but I can let you know if need be when i see the data logging on the laptop.

Good to see your getting more from the scoob now, I like the way the car has obviously been developed personally and there has been a definate plan of action and vision from yourself.

Can't wait to get my next one (hopefully summer) and sample some of that Mocom magic.

Here you go... for those interested

As promised.. please remember these figures are AT THE WHEELS

Funny really how my in gear times are virtually no different to when we threw 1.6 bar through my old VF35 but these are only in 4th gear and up to 90mph. Where she really comes good are through the gears and my 30mph to 130mph area.
This graph follows my other one untill about 5.5k rpm after that, this turbo blitzs the old one. The graph being the same is due to the boost being only kept to 1.3 bar until around 4k. This is to combat surge from big boost.. however hopefully we have some neat ideas to reduce surge and hopefully wind the boost up alot more in the middle.. maybe 1.6 to 1.7 bar.

Currently she runs and holds 1.5bar to the redline.

In gear times are as follows..

40-60mph = 2.7 sec
50-70mph = 2.5 sec
60-80mph = 2.6 sec
70-90mph = 2.9 sec

Double click the graph to make it bigger

Yup 302.8WHP.. or there abouts.. i never trust dynos.. only my *** dyno

At 16% loss of which personally i think is more accurate its 351.2bhp
At 25% loss (other tuners seem to use) it calculates to 378.5bhp

Personally im happy to accept the lower figure.. im not into bhp figures.. just how it feels on the road

Hopefully depending on where the development takes us circa 420bhp is the current ultimate goal for what i feel will be a very capable road/track car with good response and drivability.

A big build and a twisted Garrett setup would be nice but IMO would not make the car nice to drive for how i want it to be... I want it to be responsive and a least peaky as possible.

Who knows.. 550+ is not out of reach
