Mods for 2008???

Can i have your views on these mods please and an estimated bhp/lbft?
  1. 2.5L Closed Deck Forged Short Block<< Good start
  2. 650cc Injectors Walbro Fuel Pump Fuel Regulator You'll probably require higher than 650cc but that wil be determined when mapping
  3. Andy Forrest TD05/06 20G Turbocharger << Okay turbo but on that setup i would run a Lateral performance MD321T, an o520g wont break 400bhp without funny fuel. The 0620g will only just break 400bhp in reality but an MD321T will push 450bhp with much better response on the 2.5. If you stay 2ltr then id run with an MD321H. If however you want some proper ponies and have the block to take it then why not go for a twisted turbo and maybe run a big Garrett or similar, maybe a GT35??
  4. Autobahn88 Front Mount Intercooler <<These are complete junk mate, buy a proper cored intercooler.
  5. Autobahn88 Oil Cooler (Remote Filter) Havent seen these so cant comment however personally id run with a Mocal cooler as i know they are great
  6. Perrin Fuel Rails << Add a parallel fueling to these rails if they dont already come with, which to be honest i think they do.
  7. Sard Low Temperature Thermostat
  8. Apexi Type-R AVC-R Boost Controller
  9. Agency Power Red Turbo Inlet 3"
  10. RCM Modified Oil Pump
  11. Cold Air Induction Kit
  12. Godspeed 335mm Disc Conversion
Thanks Mike

I tems 7 to 9 will be determind when mapping really mate apart from the oil pump which is a must on a proper built engine. Id also add a PPG gear kit to your wish list and dont forget the cost of a proper clutch.

You also do not mention any head spec??

Although may i ask where you intend to take the car in terms of power response, driveability etc?

What do YOU want from the car as there maybe a few things you may need to change on your spec.

Good luck

Frayz

Mark a VF37 will restrict him to 360bhp max.

I think he wants more?

As mentioned above, that spec will chew your gearbox to pieces.

I was looking into "built" heads for my plans and they are coming up at around £2k.

as i said on the other thread the perrin rails wont fit your car.

The autobahn88 FMIC if i am presumin they are hybrid or similar then the cores are fine, the pipeworks not the best though. Im about to push a hybrid futher than anyone else so ill let you know what it can/cant take

650cc injectors will be fine up until 500bhp, no need for anymore unless your shooting for higher.

Turbo is key here for me, figure out which one you want and then build the spec round that.

Ive tested the autobahn mate, the cores are useless

The hybrids have much finer rows of fins within the core and so are more effective. The Autobahns run much higher ACTs than that of an STI7 topmount.

Neilo - i presume you would up the fuel pressure a lot to get 500 bhp out of the 650cc injectors? They should be fairly maxed out at 440 ish on normal 3 bar base pressure
