Tiny just a question mate.......i aint being picky but just want advice mate.

does this mean i have to remove my website address from my user location ?

as it states in the rules that we are not allowed to have commercial links etc in our profiles etc....

My website is not a commercial website, and i as yet do not generate any capital from it.

would be good to hear yours or the webmasters views on this

My understanding John is that your PC Medic web address is not allowed but a personal address is allowed.

If a site "is not generating income at the moment" that implies to me that it is hoped IT WILL generate at sometime hence a commercial site

Thats how I see it but of course this is not my site or my rules I would suggest you contact webmaster@scoobynet.com for clarification

this is another grey area imho

if I want to praise xtreme or mocom for recent good service which I have done recently this is ok imho

however over zealous promotion of a company especially if they aren't an authorised trader will not be allowed

all imho of course

Frayz,

This policy is only for posters that are either linked or part of a company / trader etc (as regards to posting commercially content in the forums). A commercial username and or profile content has never been allowed regardless, unless of course you are a Authorised Advertiser.

HTH

Phil,
I expected more of you mate!

Can you nay read!? lol

"3. Commercial content in posts / threads relating to their company (i.e. prices, contact info etc)"

Nowt grey about that! lol

Regards,
Shaun.

IMHO,

This is Scoobynet getting more and more greedy , Scoobynet is getting beyond the joke .... Makes me feel like pissing off somewhere else, as SDB and Shaun could turn anything round to their way of thinking, especially with 'This list is not exhaustive', meaning they could add something just to make what you are doing, wrong .

If I hadn't made a lot of friends etc, I wouldn't now be using this forum, as it is getting stupid ....... Seems Scoobynet is the new Tesco.com .... Oh dear, I have just plugged a company !!!!!!!!

Will have to change unless youre a registered trader unfortunately.

Suppose it is only fair if everyone is all treated the same..

Up untill now there has been people doing it all over the place..

I can think of one person who trades on here, everybody knows he ports headers and sells ECU's and yet SN have never pulled him about it

Lots of blind eye turning IMO

Right,

For the hard of hearing, hard of seeing and the others that are from a different planet! (i.e. Nate)

1) You are OK to post a url or give information about a company IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF THAT COMPANY OR ASSOCIATED WITH IT. Another words, if you own a company, provide a service / product or are associated with that company / person you CANNOT post commercial information like web address, product prices etc.

This has ALWAYS been the case from the year DOT.... what has not been the case is the new policy around what will now happen if you break this policy.

To say that we are being greedy by doing this is crazy.

Her at the Back,
This has never been allowed.... if they exist, then they have slipped through the net. Instead of before me asking the person to stop using the account, we will now immediately ban it..... thats if we see it or we are told about it.

Frayz,
Another case of you should never comment without knowing the facts. That person has been approached about it, but I was not aware he was still doing it. If this is the case and I can see examples this will be actioned.

People need to stop assuming that myself or the mod's pick up on this all the time. As the policy says..... if you see it, please report it (as people do) and we can then take appropriate action.

Regards,
Shaun.

Frayz,
You tell me about them and I will action it (if they are breaking the commercial policy). If I dont know about it I cant do anything about it.

I'm sorry mate, but if you think we protect anyone because they are too valuable to the community to not pay for the priviledge.... you obviously dont know me very well.

I have never and will never turn a blind eye.... why do you think I have initialised the latest round of announcements. I am sick to death of it personally and am actively doing something about it.

You are more than welcome to PM or email me with details, as is anyone...... in fact I ENCOURAGE IT. In fact if people contact ME direct about these commercial policy infringements there is no wriggling out of it and I am the one who is responsible...... needless to say anything regarding this issue has never been given favourtism by myself and is not about to start now. Confidentiality is assured.

Regards,
Shaun.

I would just like to appologise for the post that I made, my head is officially hung in shame I am now aware that I broke the rules and just didn't think when I posted my thread, so I can understand why the webmaster removed it. Rules are rules!

But if I can just take a little time to mention that the post was not made to generate extra buisness for the company that I work for as the items in question I only had 2 of and will be sold very quickly in the normal way. The reason I posted was to let fellow ESC members know about a genuine bargain in the same way I would if I had seen it in a shop elseware.

Anyway I am not angry with the webmaster as the rules are set and having now been made aware of them I realised that I broke them, so I won't be doing it again!

While we are on topic though the only thing that does bother me is that their are still people that post on this forum who have absoluty nothing constructive to say but constently fire abusive posts to members despite the fact that they have been reported? In the report post tab it states "Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts."?

Chris

IMHO you don't need to apologise at all

You were making no financial gain and you are just an employee of this company and were offering no more than us a heads up to a bargain

If that does now break the rules I am sure you weren't aware of it at the time

SO NO SHAME MATE

Emma managed to sort me some tickets for ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ from her employer she made no gain just helped a friend out

Its the same thing

Anyway no harm done we all know where to come if we want a TV

and yes the trolls

just keep reporting and ignoring them

I don't want my user name to get banned, as I like coming on here So thought I'd seek clarification and act accordingly.

I very occassionally put together a DVD for a show and the yearly tunnel run, in no way is this a business.

I presume being a trader on SN costs a fair bit of money (please let me know how much, if you feel I need to be a trader to sell them) because it is set up for a typical company that makes a living from the service/product they sell. Money that I make off the DVD's isn't really a great deal due to all the time involved creating them (much less than minimum wage ), tbh it is more of a club service and a bit of a hobby.

My question is, am I allowed to sell a couple of DVD's that I have created? If not I'll stop and just do it face to face at meets and not personnally post up on SN about them.

Appologise if I have broken the rules
