Smile Big Thanks to Zak @ Mocom Racing

Just a quick thanks to Zak, Car went in to have a quick checkup, Map etc...

Zak found the car to be Detting , on lift off, fine on full power, but detting as I was lifting off...

As per usual, very friendly and professional service, and very good value, also got myself a Knocklink whilst there.

Top bloke, thanks Zak

Nice one mate, nice to see youre keeping an eye on things

Im willing to bet there are loads of ESC cars pinging away without the owner knowing... purely because they think "what they dont know dont hurt em"

Might not hurt them but i bet they wont like the look of a sandblasted piston

Thanks Mark......and Cornelius.........and Matt......and Frayz........and Steve

Just to clarify what was occuring with Marks car wasn't what's known as lift off det, which may be deemed not so much of a problem as detonation occuring whilst on load.
As Mark states it was fine on WOT, but when pulling up behind a car and holding a constant throttle (approx 4500rpm) whilst waiting to overtake it would get a little noisy had a KnockLink or similar device been fitted prior to yesterday it would've been picked up before. This is a problem I've seen on quite a few cars that have been mapped on a rolling road as the operator tends to conduct full throttle runs rather than simulate everyday driving. Given an ECU that can be mapped live (Apexi, Autronic, etc) Rolling Roads are great to tune on but with the NewAge ECU where any changes have to be uploaded each time this side often gets overlooked.

For those doubters out there, I wont say what 'software' was used to map this car before

Needed the map checking after putting the standard Air box back on, with some direct cold air feed of coarse, my foglight now doubles as a hoover

Small animals beware, no mesh yet...

If you check out the Banner at the top of the screen, I think he does it for around £450...

Highly recommended mate.

Must admit, I'm hearing a lot of good things about Mocom Racing, so Zak must be doing something right:
