Massive lack of sleep dont help either.

And us even older gits, you young whippersnapper.

Right I have my comfy slippers on & a mug of horlicks so listen here,it seems like your going through the "impatience of youth" thing m8.

Believe it or not I am not so old that I have forgotten what that is.We all go through it & we all come out the other side of it none the worse for wear.

But like you say it sucks at the time & hearing people say "patience is a virtue" doesn't cut much ice. You will find times where the more you push for something the further away it seems to keep getting. All you can do is persevere.

Try to think positive about what you have & not so much about what you haven't :-

Nice car

Nice girlfriend

Driven a Cossie like it was stolen

Nice group of friends (ESC)

Two clear buckets. Sorry just trying to lighten up,was getting a bit fuddy duddy.

I am currently counselling my twenty-something year old daughter for this same problem.

I know exactly what you mean mate, when you think things are on the up, something happens to make you doubt your beliefs, been in the same boat before, was even thinking about jacking in the scooby scene, but I know people are always about to help, or lend an understanding ear!

Keep the faith mate!

Frayz, as i said to you last night, i worked for fords for 7 years mate, i know how you feel.

i completely changed career, but don't feel its a waste of time.

Engineering skills and especially apprenticeships are a great base for many future endeavours, including common sense, people skills, and using the old grey matter!!!

i'm sure you'll find a path, just be patient!!!

i started my own business at 35 (two years ago) and feel it was the right time to do it.
People ask me if i would have liked to do it earlier and i say no, i'd have missed out on the experience to get me here in the first place!!!!

if you want to chat more let me know, i'm never really busy, especially to help other people.

good luck and keep smiling,

Dazza

Frayz, just seen this and felt compelled to reply.

Im a youngish 34, I used to earn crap money and never had the things I wanted, then I got a better job earnt better money and we bought a house, so still had none spare to do those things in life that I wanted to.
Next, I got an even better job, I now earn so much more money, so we got a bigger house, but, alas, my wife had to retire from work due to her disease (Rhuematoid arthirits) becoming uncontrollable, so now I earn good money, but have to pay our big motgage, so still nothing spare to play with.

The lessons, life IS a bitch, but you have to adapt to what gets thrown at you and its definitely what you make it

I have friends in council house accomodation, with no cars, no money and no jobs, no holidays and no real prospects in life, those are some of the most cheery, happy and contented people I know because they adapt and enjoy the simple things like friends, fresh air and a laugh.

chin up

Chin up fella.
Life is one big cycle full of ups and downs. A journey through a valley. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel my man.

As Tiny rightly said you are always smiling, keep the smiles up man, the health is more important than wealth.

Good luck, as for holidays, if can't have one now, there is always a next time.
Peace from a guy that feels the same as you, sometimes.

Never assume the next guy is better off.

At the end of the day everyone has good and bad times, without the bad you can't appreciate the good!

Be thankful that you have your health, family and friends. They are the most important things in life.

Hope things at work sort them selves out

Are you looking to go elsewhere now?

Frayz,
My old boss died of stomach cancer aged 47, and that was brought on by him stressing about how to become richer faster than he could physically do it.
He spent the last few years of his life worrying himself into an early grave, just because he could see other people who have big houses, flash cars, a real rolex, etc. and he assumed he should be at that 'level' at his age.

I guess what I am trying to say is have goals, realistic ones, as markers on YOUR ladder of life. Do not use other peoples lives as yardsticks, as that will only cause disappointment, and resentment in the end.

I have finally got my dream car, a Scooby. It has taken me 10 years of dreaming, and a personal loan to achieve my dream, however, I waited till the time and circumstances were right, so I didn't have to stress about where the money for the loan is coming from, and so I kept to my realistic goal.

Work hard towards realistic goals, and keep your pecker up, you WILL get there in the end.

Andy

Frayz,

One song to go back to in times of despair .......

Bright Side of Life

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of ****
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

Nate.

ps Keep that smile on !!

frayz...?

who is he,, i never met the guy.
ive seen his car tho.very nice
ive also adopted the two clear bucket system and taken it back over the fence to middx and spreading the word there.

life does hit you with some bad blows now and again, but when this happens i just think of the less fortunate people in the world, coz there are alot of people hurting and when i think about them for a second all my problems seem so silly, laughable almost..

i mean take me for example, i am a 100% scottish(tattoo, flag on number plate, the lot) livin down here with all you guys.
now as if that isnt bad enough, its my birthday next week, yeah thats right ill be 27 on the 23rd april..BL@@DY ST GEORGES DAY!!

and ontop of this my mum let it slip that i was concieved in bognor regis!

proud to be scottish, but thinkin i was actually supposed to be english, now i am confused <picks up his cleanin stuff and heads for the drive>

it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile!!!
