Default Exhaust/mapping question?

If you fitted an STI exhaust and a decat up pipe to a 2002 wrx wagon, would you need to get the car mapped to gain out of it, not purely max power, but to make sure it's running as it should. ( I hope that makes sense ).

As above. Need a remap mate for the exhaust changes to control the boost otherwise you may damage the engine. On the plus side your car Will be a lot faster after

It's not a car that I own, yet, but I test drove it the other day and just thought it lacked a bit of power compared to one I used to own, ( same model but without the sti exhaust ).
As you say, maybe it needs a simple remap to get it running properly.

remap all the way & will be the best value tuning you can do.
bolting bits on will only give small amounts, however a good remap will transform it!
speak with Duncan (aka RaceDynamix).
my car was standard besides a cat back/filter and scrubber cat removal (up-pipe & downpipe cats still in for MOT)
power & torque up 25%
