Default Running non AVCS heads with stock ECU in MY05 STI

Question guys,

I have a Impreza P1, but the complete car is rebuilded with an donoer MY05 STI.
So all electrics, etc and engine is MY'05, incl ECU.
Now i have a new engine(almost new, like 4000km )
This is a 2.65 with all the nice stuff inside and running with MY00 heads, 292 Brian Crower cams and non AVCS.
Is it possible to swap the complete engine in my car, with the STI sensors on the engine but without AVCS and get the ecu remapped with open ecu, or simmilar open ecu flashing software.

Hi Renzo

If you are running already New age ECU then you should able to map this via EcuFlash/Romraider,but off course you will need Tactrix OpenPort

On longer run i would go with aftermarket ECU like is Syvecs S6GP and make own loom which can be easier to do so

Hi Jura, that is going to be done, but is it possible to use the engine with the non avcs heads in my car with the OEM MY05 STI ecu.
I would like to use the MY 00 heads with the 292 dgr cams instead of the AVCS cams. Normaly if you do this, you get an CEL due missing signals of the AVCS cams.
Understand what i mean

Hi Renzo

Yes you should be able to use NON AVCS heads on OE 05 STI ECU,you will need or you must disable AVCS errors plus possibly you will need to disable TGV errors(DTC/CEL) and few others

Hi Renzo

But still I would definitely would keep AVCS heads just due with AVCS heads you will or can gain on spool up,agree with 2.65 you shouldn't have any issue with spool up,but I would still keep them and if,then I would buy aftermarket AVCS cams like Kelford V2-199(have run them and can highly recommend them)

Would be a backward step and a waste.

Just swap the heads off it
