Default SimTek Question??

I have Simtek ecu fitted and was wondering if anyone else who has one fitted that has managed to get the OBD port to work?

As i have bought a couple of OBD readers and all fail to read anything.

So seeing if anyone else has had more luck?
Or maybe any of the ECU gurus can give a definitive answer on whether the Simtek retains the OBD port use?

Cheers
Mel

Hi Mel

Sadly when you are fit any aftermarket ECU on New age you will loose OBD connection,on some piggyback/daughter board ECU you will retain OBD functions

Due this OBD reader will not work on yours SimTek

With most aftermarket ECU for mapping or logging are used specific ports or with their specific cables or like on Syvecs you will need cheap RJ45 cable and free SW from Syvecs,on SimTek you will need get their specific cable and SW,this cost around £150

Is this still the case then? Need cable and software

I have a Simtek ECU fitted and can't use OBD2 port for Torque :-(
Would ideally like to run Torque or similar monitoring app on an android head unit.
No one found a way to do this yet?

there's nothing on the obd port for you to talk to on the simtek - it's just a matter of waiting for someone to figure out how to do it you would have to have the simteks software modified to run the OBD protocol and answer/respond to queries for those things to work.

Thought so. Cheers.

Want to monitor stuff but don't want to drive around with a laptop on passenger seat! :-)
