quick question, how many have had a knock sensor failure? been running fine no issues then all of a sudden today starts shocking knock signal at idle, give it some revs knock signal stops. it pulled IAM down to .375. got home reset the ecu fault cleared left to run 10 mins no issues, took the ic off checked connections all good, retorqued the bolt. went out for a drive no issues no knock signal IAM is 1 tried WOT full boost and nothing!!! fine learning was doing quite a lot but i guess its got a lot to sort out after IAM being at .375!

going to order a new one just incase!

 

I know they are pricey but id shell out for a new knock sensor mate.

The knock sensor on my Bug failed and it didnt log any codes or throw on a CEL once in 4 months. All it did was pull the timing, sometimes ~15 degrees, and generally run like a burst couch. Fuel economy was awful.
Even after an ECU reset the FKLN wasnt long in retarding everything again, sometimes after only a few miles.

New knock sensor and ECU reset last week and so far so good.
