Default ECUTEK: Switchable map on standard 03' ECU?

I was thinking of a 2nd ecutek remap but this time getting switchable maps on the go.

Would it be possible on the standard 2003 WRX ECU to have 1 map suited to 95RON that has boost as low as 7psi?

If so, would the button to switch maps be the rear window heater button?

I believe its only the boost that can be altered and not the fuel map. So both maps would require the same fuel

As above only boost map not the actual fuel map, only DBW models(JDM too) can have this

Thought as much guys, cheers.

I suppose a drop to a low PSI won't effect MPG that much

Ah, hmmmm, this is interesting. I didn't know the standard ECU can have two prestored maps! On a couple of occasions it has felt like some extra power has come from nowhere, so this could be the answer to that. Could it be possible to be wired up to something else, other than the rear window heater?

I got my car off of a dealer, and although there's no paperwork suggesting it, I think it has been played with, and quite possibly mapped. It certainly smells very lean, and as I said, it has felt like some extra power has come out of nowhere. Now I normally have the rear window heater on due to some damp issues, and its always getting misted up. So, could it be a possibilty that when that automatically cuts out (15 mins I think) that a new map kicks in?

You can go route of the Open Source remap(CarBerry ROM),with this you can have 2 fuel maps,ALS,LC and Mafless, plus at the end will be cheaper

It still works as per normal, you need to hold full throttle and press the demist switch to change maps.

Yes AFP did this for me also

1 map for touring (around Europe) and with 95RON, 2nd for power and 98RON.

Either with ignition turned on but engine not running throttle fully down, heater rear window off-> on toggles the map.

You can also do this driving - so floor the throttle at say 2k revs in top and then toggle heated rear window (off->on) also switches map.

Difficulty is knowing which map you are running (disconnect battery / reset ECU) and you go back to 'initial' map.
