Toucan fitting
Just looking for a bit of advice before I fire on tommorow. It is very straight forward looking, only thing I'm wondering is where people would recommend wiring the;
Black - Ground
Yellow - A permanent +12v ground
Red - A switched ignition +12v
Orange - Lighting circuit
They come with bullet connectors but I don't see these being much use if I'm needing to split into wires?
Please go easy on me as I've wired up gauges etc but I'm no auto-electrician and just looking for easy to access wires on the Subaru.
Cheers,
Allan

I found all of the feeds mentioned above from the radio feed connector. which by default is never that far from the back of the toucan. I pinged an inline fuse in the 12v ignition feed, but the current draw of the toucan is very low so this probably isnt needed.
As has been said, all the power feeds in the supplied cable have inline fuses. We fit bullets as it allows you to extend the wires if you want, or even to remove the entire Toucan and cable without too much trouble. Or you can cut them off and splice to your chosen wiring.
In my own car, I spliced in to the cable feeding the clock as all the necessary wires are there. But the radio is another good one.
The only thing I've noticed with my own installation is that the switched feed goes dead during cranking, and since with a Syvecs it takes a good few churns before it fires, Toucan does momentarily shut down and restart. No big deal, but I keep meaning to find a switched feed that doesn't go dead during cranking...not enough hours in the day though!!
If you want more advice/suggestions/help - just ask: here, or call me, or email/PM
