Default what to do

hi i have stript my 95 sti and rebuilding the full car but just wondering how i get a mot as it is going to need a map be for i can get a mot but it cant go on the road till it has one but cannot be mapped till it has mot and tax I just don't no how to sort it help me

Get a mobile mapper to come to you and map it on the way to the test station on the way to you're pre booked mot

am in the same boat as u right now mate after fitting loads of mods and new ecu need it mapped and its nae motd taxed

Speak to a mapper guys , if you're booked in for an mot , I can't see why you couldn't arrange to have you're mapping done on en route

Don't forget if you're booked in for an mot test you can drive there without tax or mot ( still need insurance )
So if youre going directly there ( wink wink ) you are allowed to drive

Done this several times..

Car doesnt need to be fully mapped for mot.. set base map up so car runs on drive, set cruise up and cold running as it warms up etc on drive to mot..

complete mot and then complete mapping or finish mapping another day etc.

bit of a **** about that thow having to map twice how cost effective is it as surely it would cost more if mapper having to make 2 trips ??

Like Simon ( jgm ) says maybe finish the map after the mot

Maybe get a transporter or trailer and take it to youre nearest rr and see how much p***ing about and cost effective that is ?
