Hi folks,
After much thought I have decided to open this forum at your request, but please consider very carefully your actions within this section, both from a posting and reading point of view.
Engine management is a very complex subject and what appears to be a very simple change, can have huge ramifications under different conditions. (summer Vs winter for example.)
Please, remember, any modifications you make are at your own risk, and if you are not 100% certain that the advice you are about to offer is correct, don't offer it.
Also remember there are professionals out there willing to help, and anyone found directly bad mouthing such professionals, or posting up their calibration code for example, will be immediately banned.
This forum is for learning... please use it that way only and remember, I am here to help where I can as its a subject close to my heart, so i wont be far aware if you guys start to get a little out of hand, so beware...

Agreed... logs are not the IP of the mapper (only the map is IMHO) so I can't see why there would be any reason to exclude them.
A good positive move for scoobynet which will get the real

Hi people my other half has a 1997 Scobby STI, just wondered If a re-map will sort out the dropping of idle, when she drives it and come to a junction it nearly cuts out, then the revs come up, I flash coded it, it came it with idle air control valve, so I took the one off my car, I've got a wrx Scobby, cleaned my one out, seemed to make the running better but it still goes to stall? I've even changed the mass/ air flow meter, also done a full service, oil, plugs, it's got a piper cross air filter on it, do you think a re-map help? Thanks Scobby 555

Hi all, just wondered if any of you could help me....I have a Classic Scooby that i took on which needed a lot of work. The car has no history what so ever and i am trying to decipher what exactly it is and where it's from. So it had a TD05 on it, but i have put a TD04 on it now(this is the first odd bit: when i first had the car the turbo was seized and yet since removing it it has freed up completely..??!!) anyway the td04 is on but i am struggling to see if it is performing properly as i'm getting flat spots through the rev range range (as if it's slipping similar to as a clutch would) usually 3rd-5th gear, almost as if when you boot it, the turbo has to try and catch up...!! So i took the passenger footwell back to have a look at the ECU and it's an E3......Any help much appreciated. I am very keen to get her running 100% again but this is very frustrating.....I have thought that perhaps the car was mapped for the TD05 that was on it and that now i have replaced it with the 04 that it is simply in need of a remap....??? Anyway thanks in advance.
Now then!
I have just bought an X reg 2000 Turbo and was wondering how I could go about remapping it. Firstly for fuel economy and secondly for performance. I'm not sure if both of these criteria can be met with a remap. I think the ECU is a Y7. The car is totally standard with the exception of a scorpion stainless exhaust and a green panel filter.
What are my options?
I'm from Middlesbrough and somewhere relatively local would be ideal. Can anyone recommend anywhere?
Cheers..

Start a new one.
Hi Stewart, im new at this forum stuff maybe you can help me.
I have a 2017 WRX 2.0 T with a manual trans. U.S. spec. I run a COBB accessport on the ECU for performance. Moving to Spain and bringing it with me, will the ECU need remaping because of the gasoline difference

Probably would have been better to post this as a new thread in the forum, rather than in the stickied "welcome" thread.
There is a least one 2.0 turbo WRX model (FA20F engine) in the UK of that year (that I know of) due to US service personnel being stationed here.
I would imagine that it would be beneficial for the sake of the engine to have it dyno'ed, once you arrive at your location, and then see if a map tweek is required to suit locally available fuel.
The US owners manual recommends 98RON (93AKI) or higher for the STI model and 95RON (91AKI) or higher for other models.
It really depends with which fuel your car is mapped for and what Octane fuel is available in your new location.
95 RON is most common. Shell V-Power (98 RON) is also commonly available, as also other brands of 98 or 97 RON..
