Is there anyway to get the data such as boost displayed in a tablet for a v2 impreza with the piggy back ecu? I'd prefer this over gauges

I think Rich is running ESL though a table, think he posted a picture up sometime ago. Why don't you upgrade to ESL.

 

Yes I run this old tablet with windows XP,I have gauges so don't use this much now for live data,you can use any tablet running windows XP to the latest 10

 

I do like the concept, i do need a cheap laptop for the garage.

There's an esl board and ecu on ebay now, buyer will except offers.

 

Ive got an esl board i just needed to know what tools i needed to display it on a tablet, its a 95 so will it be the early version cable from the esl site and does it have the software installed on it already ?

I don't have the cable, I have gauges but they (prosport) seem to go through sensors like theres no tomorrow. The ESL was mapped 3 1/2 years ago by JGM so I'm not sure if its considered a "later" version?.
My Anti lag and launch control were never activated, is this something that can be switched on/off through the tablet.

 

Is your car a v3/4? If yes then AL,LC etc are available but afaik you would need to send the ECU off to get these features. If it's v1/2 then it's not available.
You need to get an ESL cable.
If you get hold of a cable then I can send you a map with my AL/LC to see if it's just the map data you need for these,but my map wouldn't be ideal for your car.

Cable is generally half price when buying with the ecu or booking on the course,I also paid £90

Yes you can.
Is your car my97 or my98? If it's my98 it will have the facelift dash and obd2 port under the steering column.

 

Hi mine is a my97 I don' gave the obd2 pot

 

8s ecu then? You would want the 97/98 board and the ssm data cable.
But I would double check the ecu code to be sure
