Default Engine management light

Hi guys and girls,

had the engine management light, the awd light and the cruises control light come on this morning. The cruise control light continually flashes whilst driving. Any ideas ?

It's a 2008 wrx hatchback. The car seems to be running as normal but for some reason these stayed on when I started her up this morning. Cheers

I'm waiting for one of the boys from work to come in so I can borrow his obd reader. I'm assuming it's linked to the safety aspects of the car but it runs fine and the brakes and abs are working fine also

pump gets condensation / water in it and gets blown around the system causing the pump to seize...chances are that the secondary air valves are sticking as well.
I think the pumps have come down in price a bit but they used to be bloody expensive.
just remove it all and get it mapped out.
When the pump seizes it also blows the fuse under the bonnet.
on a hatch when the engine light comes on it always brings on the rest of the warning lights as well.

I spoke to a guy up the road who's a Subaru specialist who said that he's gonna try and clear the fault but the problem is that it could come back on. He did say he has 2 valves that arent being used so I may see how much he wants for them. If I get them mapped out will there be a chance that the light will come back on ?. It's a pain because the mot is due in 2 weeks

I've been a subaru mechanic for the last 12 years trust me it will come back on if not straight away after 3 drive cycles.
if mapped out they will never give fault again as the car thinks it doesn't have them.

I was just about to say that. I spoke to Subaru and they said exactly the same thing. what's the repercussions if I got through the mot now (because it's not a failure) and left it a month to replace the pump ?, i take it the valves would need replacing aswell mate ?

it will fail the mot because of the ABS and traction control light being on.
The valves will seize eventually...they all do.
it won't affect the drive of the car its just annoying with the light on.

Ok. Im gonna try and get the faults cleared so I can get it through the mot this Saturday. Then sort out a new pump and valves after I reckon. Is there any chance someone on here may sell a pump ?

Spoke to Subaru about new pump valves etc. £659 for the valve £500 EACH for the valves £40 for fitting + VAT hahaha.

Luckily slowboy racing will map it out for £270 + VAT. Hmmmm what shall I do
