Question Worth remapping??

hi guys

so I have a bog standard 2006 WRX (albeit apart from a backbox on) and was considering a remap. I've asked about the general census is ill get anywhere between 250 and 270 bhp from a good map... brilliant...

but....... my engine has 52k miles on the clock. Would it be safe at this stage of its life to consider a remap (it has been very serviced though!)

So.... worth doing or not?!

Cheers
Will

A decent mapper will do a power run to get a base figure which should spot any problems and would advise accordingly.

if your thinking about it then it may be worth doing a sports cat/decat beforehand to get the most from the map. The standard cat will hold things back a bit and you won't get the peak figures that are possible. The 2.5 will really shine in midrange torque which can be around 300 lbft and is a very mighty shove when you sink the right foot.
