Default Polishing engine covers

Hi ive got a couple of engine covers, spray bottle, battery cover etc which have gone past just a hand polish with something like auto sole.

Any methods, ideas i could get them shiny again?? I didnt try a polish wheel on my drill but still left them flat looking.

Last time I checked engine management was the electronic type and not the managing of the engine's appearance.
