Default A good day at enginetuner

Got to say a big thank you to Alan and Martyn and all the guys down at Enginetuner.
Had my type r down there yesterday for the final map after they rebuilt my engine and I'm very happy with the results, got a nice 380/380

Nice figures, is that on the standard gearbox too?

If so what did Alan and Martyn say about the box handling those numbers, just curious as I have a Type R as well.

Nice looking graph there, Do you have the boost AFR graph too? Was this achieved at circa 1.5 bar? Similar turbo as me, quite interested

That's on a 5 speed dccd box from a version 3 type r.
Was told there's a lot of them running good figures so just a matter of seeing how far it will go before it breaks.

I don't have the boost graph but Martyn maybe able to post it if he has a copy.

The dccd are known to be the better/stronger boxes albeit the 54 is the better one, I'd guess the op is running the 52.
Tbf most jdm boxes are better than the UK ones, Tim has broke 2 UK boxes in just a few drives but his RA box is holding up well at 530hp

It's just a piece of string sinario though.

Yes it's a 52,although the car is a version 5,I bought it as a rolling shell and already had this gearbox so decided to go with that for the time being.

Most of the jdm boxes seem to be stronger or better, maybe to do with ratios so less strain who knows.
Not saying it won't break though.

10, 12.5, 14

It's actually at 11.5AFR as an average richening up to 10.7 right up the top end.
No it's running on straight vpower, why ?

I'm studying my own tune just now, I'm a good bit richer at 11.- 11.3 top end, but at 1.6 taper to 1.4 bar I'm running 14,15,17 degrees timing, wasn't sure if this was a low advance figure, but looks ok going by what you've just said. Cheers

It's relative to compression of course.

I see, I have .9mm head gaskets and so may have a slightly lower compression ratio than std. 8:1 say
