Default Exhaust and Remap

Hi,

I have recently purchased a 2005 Blob WRX and it has come with a turbo back exhaust and panel filter, in the history folder there was a copy of a rolling road print out stating 275.5 bhp.

Would this suggest that the exhaust was on when it was remapped? im just a bit worried the exhaust was fitted after.

If you fitted a decat system and didnt remap it would you be able to tell by the way it drove that it was over fuelling or anything?

Sorry if these questions are a bit vague.

Thanks

Chris

Thanks for your reply, would i matter if it was mapped with the decatted system and then changed to another decatted system?

Also if i wanted to change the current decatted system to a sports catted one would it need a remap?

I brought my blob wrx in april decatted with out remap. Was fitted with ppp and had a rr print out from scoobyclinic dated 1month before i brought it. 277bhp on print out and in 3months i never had eml light come on but i was always worried how safe it was running so i had andrew carr map it for piece of mind more than anything. The cost of andrew to map it is nothing compared to a rebuild

Scotland so a bitof a trek, I used Pat Herborn (created syvecs so tells you how much knowledge he has ) up at scoobyclinic at chesterfield for all my mapping. Still a reasonable drive but well worth it.

Very few mappers i would trust to map mine, Andy F being one of them though.

Also beware of mobile mappers, check they have the correct insurance cover and bear in mind they will have no workshop support should something need sorting.
