Default Fitting a dump valve - 2005 blobeye wrx

Hi all,

Have recently purchased my 2005 blobeye wrx. It's completely standard apart from a prodrive backbox. Looking to fit a dump valve as I admit I do kind of like the sound. That's all I'm really after at the moment.

Looking at a baileys one at the moment and just wondered if I fit this do I need any other work done? Any problems I could encounter? Very much a noob so please don't hate haha.

Jack

Baileys are poo, get yourself a decent one like a forge with a set of springs so you can play around with it and adjust to suit. Also keep your standard recirc for when you've had enough and want to go back, personally I found the car ran so much better with a recirc rather than a vta.

Okay thanks guys. Didn't know it would effect the running. May just leave it for now.

It certainly can affect running, and also can cause over-fuelling, so that the engine runs rich, the fuel runs down the bores causing borewash, and diluting the oil, leading to premature wear, plus you can also get cat damage and valve burn.

Cue: loads of folk to come on and say, "Well that's rubbish, mine is/was fine".

But hey...THEY won't pay for any damage..........

As always, your car, your choice
