Default NEED Mapping or NOT..?

As per title in a few weeks (hopefully) my V5 Type-R will be landing from japan. From the details I have it is 100% stock so I was wondering if it was worth mapping it straight away so it runs happy on UK fuel (would always use VPower) or would you say its not needed.

More for reliability rather than modding etc as I not intend to mod it engine wide (famous last words )

Also can you recommend any other items you would address to hep it run safely (Upgrade fuel / oil pump needed? )

Cheers
Raf

I'd be inclined to have it mapped, do all the belts and a full fluids change as a bare minimum, I'd probably throw a fuel pump and some underseal at it as well and top and bottom rad hoses too.

the JDM maps that I've seen are off the charts for timing - even 99 ron would have difficulty running it. The car is capable of adjusting somewhat but you'll get the best results and longevity from the car by getting it properly mapped for UK fuels.

Standard practice to map a fresh import for UK fuel IMO

OK Cool thanks for the advice. Yep a full service and underbody protection is on the 'to do' list. Just hope its looks in the flesh as it does in the pics..!!

Cheers
