Default recirculating dump valve.

Recently purchased a 03 Wrx Sti and I believe it has a Bailey's dump valve fitted.

Can any one recommend where I can purchase a genuine recirculating dump valve from? I have not had much experience with a turbo engine as yet.

Is it straight forward to changing this back, and if car has been remapped which I'm quite sure it hasn't, but if so would it affect changing it back to genuine dv.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

changing back to the stock recirc valve won't mess anything up on you. Should just be a matter of bolting it to the intercooler and attaching the recirc pipe and the vac line to it.

If you want to pickup a stock recirc valve, check out the breakers section here - guys like mattybr5 will have mountains of them.

The baileys valve isn't too bad as the dump valves go so it is unlikely to be causing you any problems unless the seals need replacing.

Thanks I'll check out the breakers section. I'm not sure if it's due to you dv but I get a slight rise in revs when changing gear mainly4th-6th....

A lot of people on here say these aftermarket dv's can cause damage to the engine.. I don't mind the blow off sound but I'd rather keep my engine from popping and getting a stock dv if that is the case. Many thanks for the response

I have gone the same route due to few reasons

1) i had some real Cheapo Dump valve - looked aweful
2) The noise started to get on my nerves + as most of my vilage now hate me due to my antisocial exhaust i though the tsssss noise didnt help the situation
3) I noticed that in lower gears when all the air vents to the atmo my throtle response was not great

I will probably want that tss sound eventually but for now i want some quiteness and stealthyness

P.S. exhaust is next on the list to swapp lol

as wee see here - cheapy dump valves leak or open too soon and that's where the problems come from. A decent quality genuine valve will give you no hassles as has been proven time and time again.

Also I can confirm WRX recirc fits the STI intercooler, my bug WRX unit fitted the STI intercooler I added.

Good info. Well if dump valve us needed got one here.

I have a balieys dump valve and works great, only makes a sound if you put your foot down. So if I drive normally makes no sound.
