Ive already got the air temp sensor sat in place to do away with the maf but its not set up yet.I no which wires from the maf plug I need to run the new sensor but is it plug and play or is there software involved

 

Yes you can't just wire up a temp sensor and assume the ecu will know what to do. You will need to get the car mapped to run mafless or if it's a classic you'll need to switch to an aftermarket ecu like esl.
