Default looking for drap racing setup tips

Hi, gona try my hand at drag racing next weekend and just wondering if anybody had any tips on car setup they could share specifically suspension setup, im thinking to set my shocks up fairly hard to stop the car bogging down to much at the rear during launch or is this a bad idea, maybe reducing grip ? any ideas people ?

Wrong way round in my experience Ric, you want a squidgy rear to get the weight to transfer to the rear for best traction.

Watch the videos of the quick cars and then decide, Madhammer's car looks too soft to me, but seems to work, Andy.F.'s car and "The Banana" just seem to go...

Were those times over the 1/4? Should of been at TOTB if it was!!!
Looking at your terminal speed it was 1/8 mile, was it?

Blue type r with the carbon bonnet.

Problem was the starts. Broke the locking wheel nut in the morning so couldn't put the r888s on. Had to run on road tyres and as a results couldn't get off the line.

I ended up with the highest terminal at 98mph but much slower 60ft times.

As a result 7.626 was the best I could do. Goes to show the start of the car made all the difference

oh yeah, was talking to you down there, think i might have to invest in some 888's myself for next time as well as putting the car on a diet, my best 60ft was 2.1 seconds so i know what you mean about getting off the line, what are you running in your car btw (engine/turbo) ?

i also think the 6 speed didn't help, either bouncing of the limiter in third to cross the line or another shift 10m from the finish.

Defiantly got the bug for drag racing now tho

I think my 60ft were about 1.85 from memory.

Running Cosworth 2.5 with GT35r @ 1.6 bar.

Also running a 6 speed and quite a long way into 4th at the end.

As for the bug, it's just a shame that there aren't more events down this way as the return trip to Shakespeare or Santa Pod is a long day and significantly more cost for me.
