help with syms headers cooking my car
hi all just bought a set of syms headers from polepostion second hand.
fitted them and fitted new clutch and then:
started the car and it sounded like a rally car that rough.
took it out for a 2 mile drive taking it steady, got in and the manifold is glowing red near the up pipe join,
and its course the car to boil.
any suggestions?
Do i need a remap, is it posible its blocked, or failing that, the turbo has a crack in the exhaust housing has that got some thing to do with it?
cheers

I have syms exhaust also but fujitsubo headers/manifolds .
1. You probably need to move the post out of Driving Dynamics to something like 'General Technical'
2. What model car and what year is it?
3. A new exhaust manifold on its own should not cause any problems on tickover, (remap or not) so something is clearly not right
4. A remap might help you get more out of your modifications e.g. run more boost etc. But I don't think that on its own it will likely cure the stated problems. My feeling is that something needs to be fixed, then remap.
