Default H6 Outback (2002) VDC problem

My car has started randomly activating VDC activity (one wheel braking and beeping) on smooth corners not at high speed and not slippery, about once in 100 km but ongoing. Steering wheel makes a sort of ratchet clicking noise as it turns. Someone suggested might be the steering position sensor causing problem. I have had wheel sensors cleaned and Subaru New Zealand seem unable to help. Any ideas? Is the steering wheel position sensor easy to service, is this likely to help? Thanks

it's allowed up to about 5% either way before it starts doing funny things and i think it has to be set using the select moniter. generally though if you get the tracking done this will sort most problems associated with the steering wheel sensor

Many thanks, that's certainly worth a try, I'll get an alignment done. Do you know the specifications for geometry or do I need to go to the Subaru garage?
