Linkage?

i have jus refitted my gearbox and now I can seem to put it in all the gears and reverse without lifting up the bit under the gear *** have I fitted something wrong?

Follow the reverse lockout cable to the gearbox and see if the "switch" is stuck in the open position I guess.
