Question

Thinking of getting a scooby sport mid section and back box,can anyone tell me if they have this system and if u get a low or high range power gain and how intrusive the sound is ,dont get me wrong i love a great sounding exhaust but when u r on a long journey if its to loud it can be a pain in the rse

Cool

Scoobysports backbox and centre section will make all the right noises around town, and will be non intrusive on the motorway. Trust me I have done 35k on a MY00. It should be the law to have them

Well it's very subjective and personally, I think that the full SS system drones too much on the motorway and I couldn't live with it!!!!!

That's why I went for a PPP BB instead and was going to go SS DP + Magnex centre with resonator.....

Like I said, it's very subjective. Best thing to do is to get a ride in a car with the exhaust that you want and see for yourself....

Cool

ive got a full ss system on my p1, pretty quiet on the motorway, had it on a 97 turbo before, that was even quieter, loud arround town, brilliant with the windows down, dont get any complaints even though i work mornings and nights

Funny Matt cos I got a full SS decat and the original PPP backbox on my 01, and I find it a little too quiet, hence I'm getting a louder SS bb next week, like the man says you gotta sit in a few cars that have been done and make up your own mind I spose.

I agree with Matt on this one - it droned enough for me (full system) that I swapped the BB for a PPP one. Drone (largely) gone now. But the SS BB sounds sooo much better everywhere but the motorway - so I suppose it depends where you drive! And what your ears/head can cope with

Wink

And the speed your doing. I find that if you sit at 80 to 90 MPH then the drone isn't bad at all (stereo can drown it out) and you get good fuel economy

Cheers Phill C

PS I would go in a few cars with different systems on so you can decide for yourself.

...and depends on the car. Our full SS on the MY01 sounds much quieter in the car than the full SS did on the MY00.

My dad has an SS downpipe and backbox and Magnex catted centre section, it sounds lovely from outside but without the extra noise in the cabin.

Like Matt sayss though it is subjective - the louder the better for me

Also you'll notice a significant difference in power with the downpipe done as well (Well I did!)
