Pops and bangs
#1
Just as a matter of interest, how many people with de-cat systems get huge bangs a-la-anti-lag on gearchange? My 93WRX gives great big cracks out of the back and I don't recall seeing or hearing many other scoobs doing it at the meets i've been to.

MY98 with only the centre cat left in, and a Magnex BB gives the odd pop and bang, but not between full-on gear changes.
It happens more when coming off the throttle, or changing down gear.

I've got a K&N panel filter and a Forge dump to atmosphere valve. The car used to pop really loud before I changed the dump valve but now it produces flames more as well!!

The great thing about the bangs and the flames is that people don't tend to tailgate as much now!!
You also get used to the looks of disbelief and people looking like they're thinking "God, should it REALLY do that"?
The only worrying time is going to work past the armed police into Sellafield. They don't usually approve of loud bangs near them!!!

ok, it's cool when it pops and bangs, at the same time a hint that something isn't right, right? :-)
Obviously, the car runs rich, and excess fuel is combusted in your exhaust, this is even more in a car running with a dump that dumps in the athmosphere, measured air is dumped, and the car runs rich...thats it, but you might impress one girl or another :-)
