Question

hi

Need to know the part No. for the halford sensor that fits the impreza once the connector is changed.

Or a picture of any impeza lambda sensor will suffice!

Thanks!!

If you ask for a 3 wire 'Oxygen' sensor, they don't list it as a lamda sensor. It's made by 'hotwires'
They will tell you it doesnt fit Impreza but it does, it's just that they don't supply a loom adaptor so you need to connect the wires in a block connector or similar.

I wouldn't bother, it dies pretty quickly and won't last you very long, its not designed to run in a turbo car ... much higher temperatures involved ... cheap it may be but be prepared to replace it again very quickly.

Mine has been in for 3 - 4 months now, running up to 1.6 bar boost, dyno days, drag racing....... no problems

The two I have had in cars brought for mapping died as soon as boost was applied, guess you are lucky or two others are unlucky.

Just my experience.

Thanks for the advice.

Actually I had no intention of buying it, just needed to see how long the 18x1.5 thread was and how far the sensor went in, for my EGT adaptor I'm getting made up .

At the moment my lambda sensor is in the headers. Its moving to the downpipe, in its place will be the EGT probe.

Bob, if you read this again do you feel this is an acceptable place to read EGT? I've gathered the general rule of thumb is as close to the cylinder as poss, but since theres a nice threaded hole a bit further down the line I felt it would be rude not to .

I'm assuming the EGT at this location is going to be cooler than just after the cylinder, does anyone know generally by how much?

Also what is the general acceptable 'safe' EGT for our cars?

Thanks

Justin (thinking of starting new thread...)

I did re-locate my O2 sensor to the downpipe, the temp is lower there, perhaps that's why it is still ok. It may have died in the original position in headers ?
