Question

I remember reading somewhere on here that broadly speaking the more wieght between the engine and the tarmac through the drivechain the more power that is lost beween the two (hence why 4WD's loose more). Would it not be a worthwhile modification to get lighter driveshafts and other components between the two to improve the percentage lost rather than chucking wads of cash at the engine.

Or am I just being mince?

I think most people would beef up the drivetrain not go the other way if they were going to bother changing it!!!!!!

Remember that not that many people keep the car as standard so are more than likely to need an uprated drivetrain.....

Anyone who has played Gran Tourismo will have seen the carbon propshafts and lightenend flywheels. They basically increase power at the wheels and engine response but also lose speed quickly when going up hills etc.Carbon bits are out of most peolpe's price range but flywheels are cheap enough.
