Default 2008 > 6MT Subaru short shifter kits

Looking at the various short shifters available many seems to consist of just a lever, perhaps with stiffer bushes.

Subaru STi however offer a kit which consists of not only the lever but also what looks like linkage cables etc. The STi kit from RCM isn't cheap at about £400.

Anyone got any experience of the various options, I want a shorter more positive shift, but keeping OEM quality i.e. not rattly or noisy.

Obviously replacing a gear leaver is quite straightforward, what about the STi kit?

Thanks in advance.

Chris @ CDF Racing was supposed to be making a 6spd short shifter. but as time has passed looks like he's not bothering. As I was hoping to fit one to my car

I wholly recommend the Kartboy short shift kit with front and rear bushes. Gives a much tauter, crisper gear change. Not cheap from the US, but a lot cheaper than the STi kit. Doesn't produce any extra NVH either as far as I can tell.
